Accessibility Statement

Ready, Set, Reading!is built for beginning readers, so accessibility isn't optional — many of the students using it are still developing fine motor control, reading fluency, and sustained attention, on top of any additional accessibility needs they may have. We aim to make the app usable by as wide a range of students, parents, and teachers as possible.

Conformance target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across the marketing site and the lesson app. This is an ongoing goal rather than a certification — we continue to test and improve as the product evolves.

What we've done

Semantic HTML landmarks and heading structure throughout the site and app.
Descriptive alt text on informational images, with decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
Keyboard-operable navigation and controls, including the lesson exercise flow.
Color choices checked for contrast against the app's light background.
A font (Quicksand) chosen and configured to load without blocking text from appearing.

Known limitations

Pronunciation exercises rely on a student speaking aloud, which may not be accessible to every learner. We're continuing to look at alternative ways to complete these exercises for students who are unable to use voice input. Some marketing-page animations respect reduced-motion preferences; if you find one that doesn't, please let us know using the details below.
