Terms of Service
Last updated August 29, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of readysetreading.com and the Ready, Set, Reading!application (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or purchasing a license, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, the students you enroll.
1. Who can hold an account
A license holder must be at least 18 years old, or the applicable age of majority, and able to enter into a binding agreement — for example, a parent, guardian, or teacher. Student profiles are created and managed by the license holder; a child does not independently agree to these Terms.
2. Licenses and billing
The Service is offered under the Parent Plan and Teacher Plan, described in full on our Pricing page. Licenses renew automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or annual, depending on your plan — unless cancelled before the renewal date. You're responsible for keeping your billing information current; if a renewal payment fails, we may suspend access to the Service until it's resolved.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share license credentials beyond the students and staff you are authorized to enroll.
- Use the Service to collect information about a child beyond what the Service itself requires.
- Attempt to access another license holder’s account, students, or data.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the normal operation of the Service.
- Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable law.
4. Your content and student recordings
You retain ownership of any content associated with your account, including student names or nicknames you enter. Voice recordings captured during pronunciation exercises are used solely to score that exercise, as described in our Privacy Policy, and we claim no ownership over them.
5. Intellectual property
The curriculum, lesson content, software, and branding that make up the Service are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. Your license grants you the right to use the Service for personal or classroom instruction — it does not grant you rights to copy, resell, or redistribute the curriculum itself.
6. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is.” While we work to make pronunciation scoring and progress tracking as accurate and reliable as possible, we don't guarantee the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will produce any specific learning outcome for a given student.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the twelve months before the claim arose.
8. Termination
You may cancel your license at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated, including misuse that could put students' data or safety at risk.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify license holders directly.
